I have loved F1 races since I have been a little boy. On the weekends I used to watch the races with my father and brother. We often ate crisps or salami and it was always a fun part of the day. I remember that my dad often fell a sleep during the middle of the race, since it was often in the afternoon and after our late lunch. He would wake up just for the end. I think it is a great sport. And if you follow the entire season it is very entertaining and has quite a bit of suspense at the end

The Best F1 driver

I have always been a big fan of Micheal Schumacher and I think that he is the second best ever F1 driver. I was sad when he announced that he was going to retire from F1. And I was really enthousiastic when I heard he decided a few years later to join the fun again! Unfortunately he hasn’t beeing performing that good. Either he has lost it or has gotten too old or there are simply better drivers around. I personnaly think he should not have come back in the first place. Because quitting while your ahead is never the same as quiting. The best F1 driver in our history would naturelly be: Ayrton Senna. Who sadly died during a race. He will always remain a symbol and icon in this motorsport.

F1 Accidents

Whenever an accident happens it always looks very spectacular. This is due to the great speed and lightness of the cars. And I am always amazed that the pilots often step out without any injury what so ever. Well, lets hope it will stay that way.

Autograph collection

I love collecting and buy F1 related items with autographs. I buy them on Ebay or if I get lucky get one when I assist one the races. I have several signed Caps, photos and loads of F1 minature replicas which I have standing on the wall of my office at home. I have also recently bought a very expensive but great F1 remote controlled replica. It looks just like the real thing and I have had a lot of fun playing with it. All you need is a big flat space, such as a empty car park on sunday and there you go! I find it great fun, I have several friends who have bought similar remote controlled cars, and we have fun racing each other. And just in the real thing we have to avoid crashes, because these cars are very fragile and cost a fortune.

Mark Webber was born in 1976 in Queanbeyan, Australia. At an early age he discovered his passion for driving and competing. Beginning his career as a kart driver Webbers wins his first Championship at the age of 16. After a few years of kart driving he developed a taste for adrenalin and switched to even faster vehicles. His Formula 1 career began in 1999 as a test driver for Arrows. During this year he took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in which a spectacular accident took place. Due to a mechanical problem a Mercedes car took off like a racket, causing a big mess. Webber survived the accident miraculously unhurt.

In 2002 he was welcomed as the newest member of the Minardi team. In his first race in Melbourne he was able to win fifth place, while driving the slowest car in the race. Although he could not repeat this sensation in the 2002 racing season, his successful career started. In 2003 Webber was able to score points in his Jaguar seven times, making him number ten in the championship. In 2004 his success continued and the world started to notice the young driver with the high ambitions.

Trying to continue his success and switching to Willams, Webber was stroke with bad luck in the season of 2005. Being able to be faster than his teammate Nick Heidfeld during qualifying, he was not able to keep his performance up during the races. Some unfortunate failures did the rest and the dream of his first victory started to slip away. In 2006 Webbers performance was strong and he had a few good shots at winning, but an unreliable car kept him from his victory.

In 2007 Mark Webber switched to the Red Bull team. Now his luck seemed to have changed, winning third place in the Nurburgring tournament. Only one year later he was able to win in a Formula 1 race for the first time in the same tournament. In 2010 Webber was finally able to win the Formula 1 championship. After long years of hard work and some accidents, he reached his goal.
